Bradford Myers
Roles: Board of Administration Member, Delegate for ACTS 12:24 Conference
I was raised in western PA, with my hometown being Punxsutawney (so I’m used to all your Phil jokes!). I am a graduate of Lock Haven University with a degree in Elementary Education. My master’s degree is in Classroom Technology through Wilkes University. I have taught in Wayne Highlands SD since 2000. I currently teach 3rd grade at the Damascus School.
I married my college sweetheart Jamie on June 3, 2000, just two weeks after I graduated. We are the proud parents of Silas, Eliza, and Laurel. We live in Damascus Township.
My hobbies include following the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. I have also enjoyed training for and running many races over the years. Our family enjoys being outside around a good campfire.
As a child, many influential family members showed me what it means to follow Jesus. I was blessed to be in church each week on Sunday morning and evening, as well as on Wednesday night. Church camp was also a major highlight of every summer. I realized the importance of making my own decision to follow Christ before the age of ten, and I have tried (not always as hard as what I should) to live my life in a way that reflects that decision ever since. So my life before Christ doesn’t involve a transformation that rescued me from already being majorly down the wrong path. My testimony is that Christ took a hold of me at a young age so he could always be THE guiding presence in my life. My prayer is for my children’s testimony to be the same.
Our journey here started back in January 2006. I had moved to Wayne County in 2000, and we had worshiped in various churches until we got an invite to come check out BLFMC. The first Sunday we were here we knew that this was the place where God intended for us to be.
Favorite Scripture Verse: 1 John 2:17 - “The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”
Favorite Worship Song/Hymn: Here’s My Heart by Crowder
