Here's what we're doing
THE WIN... to glorify Jesus Christ by providing small group settings conducive to discipleship through community, growth and training.
Here's why we're doing it
We believe there are three dimensions to a great disciple group...
We believe the first dimension of discipleship, a crucial element in any life, is community: intimate relationships with Jesus and other disciples. It is when disciples live in relationship with other disciples that we can really grow, just as Hebrews 10:24-25 says, "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together..." (ESV). Without getting together with other believers, we will not grow.
When Jesus invited the disciples to follow Him, He invited them into the process of being made into "fishers of men" (Matthew 4:19 ESV). This is the process of growth in the life of a disciple, the second dimension of discipleship. Although God oversees the process of growth in a disciple (Philippians 1:6 ESV), we use these groups to create environments for believers to grow in their relationship with Jesus.
Since we are each called to be ministers of the gospel, it is necessary for us to actively train up every disciple to accomplish part of the mission of God. From special training on things like evangelism or counseling, we use these small groups to equip eager and ready disciples with the tools they need to do ministry inside and outside our church.
Each group that we have is rated to show what the aim of the group is. The ratings are as followings.
1D groups are great for believers to do something casual while also enjoying being together with other believers. These groups range anywhere from playing Disc Golf, learning to knit, gardening, kayaking or hiking.
2D: Community & Growth
2D groups entail walking with other disciples through a bible study or a spiritual growth material aimed at supplementing your relationship with Jesus.
3D: Community, Growth & Training
3D groups are tougher, more intense groups that also study through scripture and material specific to various facets of ministry, both in the local church and around the globe.
