Roles: Worship Leader, Praise Team Leader, and Board of Administration Secretary
I was born and raised in Honesdale, PA, and am thrilled to be raising my family here in this beautiful piece of God's creation. My parents were very active in our local church, and they exemplified their faith on a daily basis. Most importantly, they taught me about our Great Savior, Jesus Christ and I asked Him to be mine at an early age. As a child, I had the privilege to attend many God honoring and Christ centered clubs and camps (AWANA, CEF of NEPA) where I was further shaped by Jesus' love and His gospel. I also enjoyed various Youth Group outings, Christian leadership camps and missions/ministry projects through my teen years. I am so thankful for each of these experiences and for the people who invested their time, money and prayer so that I could be involved.
Throughout my childhood and teen years, I attended Canaan Christian Academy and, upon graduation, attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, where I studied Interior Design. After college, I moved back home and started a Bible Study group for college and career aged young adults. Several years later I was introduced to BLFMC through a friend who attended this same Bible Study. I started attending services there regularly and joined the Praise Team. I knew immediately that I had found a new place to call "home." Not long after that, my path collided with my future husband, Sean.
Sean and I have been happily married since 2007, and through several heartbreaking miscarriages, decided to become foster parents in 2012. Since then, we have had the wonderful privilege of adopting four children through foster care (Sandi, Tiffini, Jayson, and Zachariah); we were also blessed with the birth of our biological child (Hannah) in 2014. We are so thankful that the Lord has seen fit to allow us to parent these amazing kids, and we cherish the treasure that we have found in each one.
I have enjoyed attending BLFMC since 2006 and I've been honored to participate in several ministries during my time here. Currently, I serve as the Worship Leader and Praise Team Leader. I also serve as the the Board of Administration Secretary. Music has been one of the greatest joys of my life--I find my greatest worship moments through the beautiful and poignant lyrics of a song, the use of scripture, and the uplifting music that sweeps like a tidal wave over me. What a beautiful thing God has given to us with which to praise Him, thank Him, cry out to to Him, and tell of His wonders. I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve my church family in this capacity, but most importantly, I am humbled to serve the God who has called me His own , and I look forward to the great things He will accomplish in and through me for His glory in the coming years!
Favorite Scripture Verse: Psalm 40:3 - "He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord."
