Pastor Scott here! We are cancelling our gathering on January 20, 2019 due to inclement weather, and I will deeply miss joining together with you all. Even though we cannot gather together, I strongly encourage you to still set aside time Sunday morning to due what we would have usually done together: pray, praise, and study scripture together. Therefore, I wanted to provide resources for you to use to lead yourself personally or to lead your whole family in a "church-like" gathering where you read & pray, sing some songs, and hear the word of God preached. I hope God uses these resources to stir your affections for Him and His mission around the world to glorify His name. Grace and peace!

Prepare your Heart
Read through this passage below and respond to the questions.
Isaiah 26:7-9
The path of the righteous is level;
you make level the way of the righteous.
In the path of your judgments,
O Lord, we wait for you;
your name and remembrance
are the desire of our soul.
My soul yearns for you in the night;
my spirit within me earnestly seeks you.
For when your judgments are in the earth,
the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.

Personal Response Questions:
1) Are you currently walking confidence that God's "paths" are paths that lead to righteousness? In what ways are you doubting? 2) What does it mean to wait on the Lord for his judgments? Are there currently judgments you are waiting on? 3) Do you sense in your own soul a deep yearning for God, even in the "watches of the night?" Family Response Questions: If you are leading your family, ask them these questions... 1) What does it mean that God is righteous? 2) Do you think God wants us to want Him more than anything? Why or why not? |
Pray:
Based on your answers above, perhaps you need to spend some time in confession. Use the ACTS prayer guide to start off your time together. Adoration - Praise God that He is righteous and makes perfect judgments over everything in our lives. Confession - Confess that you don't desire God as He deserves. Thanksgiving - Thank God that He has made our way level and makes known in the world His righteousness through Christ. Supplication - Ask God to give you the precious gift of desiring and delighting in Him and Him alone, and to meet with you and work in you during this time. |
Praise His Name
Spend some time singing along with these songs where you are; you may think it is weird, but its not weird at all. We can praise His name in all places and in all conditions, from behind the screen of a device to behind the bars of a prison cell.

Pray for the Glory of His Name
To close out, I would love for you to spend some time praying how ever you feel led to pray. Perhaps pray that God would rise up and fight the injustice of abortions in our land. Or you can pray for Christians in some of the most persecuted countries in the world using Open Door's World Watch List below.
